The Otorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park houses New Zealand's largest kiwi collection. The nocturnal house is open daily and has two separate time zones to allow you to experience the kiwi close-up all day long. Feeding time is the best time to catch the cute characters including Northern Brown and Great Spotted Kiwi.

Owned and operated by the non-profit organisation Otorohanga Zoological Society, Inc., the Kiwi House is dedicated to the conservation of New Zealand's native wildlife through education, display and breeding programmes.
As a captive breeding centre the Kiwi House contributes to the following Breeding For Release Programmes: Western North Island Brown Kiwi, Pateke or Brown Teal, Flightless Campbell Island Teal, Weka, Stephen's Island Tuatara, New Zealand Bush Falcons, Whio or Blue Duck and Kokako.
