Transport & parking

Car parking

Mobility car parks are available for vehicles with a valid Mobility Parking Permit.  These parks are located in the single level open (no cover) car park are close to the terminal building.  The path to the terminal is wheelchair friendly.  Standard parking charges apply.

Shuttle & Taxi services

Shuttle Services run from directly outside the airport terminal and should be booked in advance.  Upon booking, please mention any special assistance you require.

Super Shuttle (0800 748 885): 

  • Drivers are trained to assist passengers in wheelchairs
  • Please inform if your wheelchair is collapsible or not (to ensure enough space is allocated)
  • Passengers can bring their own car seats for infants/children (please let them know upon booking)

Aerolink (0800 15 15 51):

  • Wheelchairs must be collapsible
  • Passengers must be able to climb 3 steps
  • Car seats are provided for infants/children at no charge (please request upon booking)

Hamilton Taxis (0800 477 477)

  • They have two mobility vans available each capable of carrying two wheelchairs


Inside the terminal building


Our airport doors are automatic and wide enough for wheelchair access


There are lifts providing access to all floors (ground and mezzanine).


There are wheelchair accessible toilets on both the mezzanine and ground floors.

Arrival and departure gates

The arrival and departure gates are located on the ground floor.  The doors are automatic and wide enough for wheelchair access.  There is seating and room for wheelchairs directly in front of the departure gates.

Food & Beverage

The cafe, Mavis Lounge, is located on the mezzanine floor.  The mezzanine floor can be accessed via the lift on the ground floor.  Food and beverages can also be purchased from The Store on the ground floor.

Note: Mavis cafe is currently closed due to the Covid-19 situation in New Zealand.


Special assistance

The comfort and safety of all passengers is important. Please contact your airline prior to booking if you require special assistance.  

Air New Zealand provides service to travellers requiring special assistance including medical conditions, disabilities, flying when pregnant, flying with children and children travelling alone.

Please note that you must be checked-in 60 minutes prior to the departure of your Domestic Air New Zealand flight, to ensure that special assistance can be provided.
