Here's our top tips ...

  • Please allow yourself time by arriving at the airport at least an hour ahead of your flight.  We have an excellent onsite cafe (Propeller Airport Cafe) if you have some time to kill!

  • If flying with Air New Zealand, you can check in online or on the Air NZ app before you leave home.

  • Have your essentials handy: boarding pass, ID, travel documents etc.

  • Know your baggage limit and pack accordingly - check weights and fees for checked-in and carry-on bags in advance.

Our airlines

Individual airlines may have specific requirements for travel, please check your airlines' website prior to your planned date of travel for more detailed information (click the logos opposite to be taken to their site).

Check-in

Our check-in counters and kiosks are located on the ground floor.

When checking in, you must have your travel documents ie your ticket and/or your booking reference.  Don't forget, you can check in online prior to arriving at the airport - check your airline's website for further information, or your airline may have a dedicated app.

Once you've checked in

You should remain in the terminal building; we have an excellent cafe (Propeller Airport Cafe) upstairs on the mezzanine level where you can get barista coffee and food, as well as vending machines downstairs.

We have a small retail offering upstairs by the cafe where you can purchase locally produced goods; magazines, books, confectionary and travel essentials such as chargers etc.

We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly and inclusive airport.  Our Parent Room on the ground floor has baby change facilities and seating for feeding.   There is also a Prayer Room on the ground floor for those who wish to worship onsite.   Wayfinding signage will assist you to locate these, or you can see them on the airport map here.

You can charge devices on our powered seating upstairs, or on the powered tables downstairs in the customer hub downstairs.

Free WiFi is available in the terminal - connect to "Hamilton Airport" - the password is freewifi

Departure information

Flight information displays can be found by the departure gate downstairs and by the cafe upstairs.  These give you up-to-date information on your flight's status.

Lost property

If you have lost property, please contact your airline for assistance.  If you have lost something at the airport, please call 07-848 9027 or email admin@hamiltonairport.co.nz with a description of your lost property and your contact details.
