Titanium Park's Precinct North recognised with two sustainability awards

Titanium Park’s Precinct North development at Hamilton Airport has received two sustainability awards in the space of a week, recognising its approach to combining commercial development with environmental restoration and protection.

At the 2026 NZ Airports Awards, Hamilton Airport received Sustainability Initiative of the Year in the medium airports category for its Precinct North Nature-Positive Development and Biodiversity Programme.

Just days later, the programme was recognised at the 2026 Central Property People Awards, hosted by Property Council New Zealand, where the Hamilton Airport team received the Sustainability Champion Award.

Located beside Hamilton Airport, Precinct North is the newest stage of Titanium Park, providing around 100 hectares for future business and industrial development.

A key part of the project is a 15-hectare biodiversity corridor, with approximately 75,000 native trees and plants planned to restore habitat, improve ecological connections and support local wildlife, including the nationally threatened long-tailed bat, or Pekapeka.  The corridor connects existing areas of native habitat and will provide an important ecological link through the wider landscape. Developed in collaboration with environmental specialists and other stakeholders, it forms part of the long-term planning for Precinct North.

Environmental considerations are also being incorporated into the precinct’s commercial buildings. The first completed design-build project, developed for New Zealand-owned company Asmuss, includes a 730  kilowatt rooftop solar generation and stormwater harvesting.

Mark Morgan, Hamilton Airport chief executive says, “We have a significant amount of land to develop at Titanium Park, and we recognise the responsibility that comes with that. From the outset, we wanted environmental protection and restoration to be part of how we planned Precinct North, rather than something considered separately. It’s a long-term investment, and the Airport is a long-term landowner so we believe this will benefit both the businesses that establish here and the wider community and environment.”

Property industry recognition for Robert Dol

The Central Property People Awards also saw Waikato Regional Airport Ltd’s Group General Manager Property & Infrastructure, Robert Dol, named CKL Property Professional of the Year.

Rob has played a significant role in the planning and development of Titanium Park, including progressing Precinct North and the infrastructure needed to support its growth. His award recognises his wider contribution to New Zealand’s property and infrastructure industry.
